Nejapa - ExSAL ST 68-69

ExSAL snatched a narrow win over Nejapa to force the decisive third game in the series. American forward Ronald Patten (201, college: Wisc.-Whitewater) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 26 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. Guard Emilio Abullarade (186-89) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American swingman Demetrius Thomas (203, college: Cerritos JC) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 21 rebounds and Felix Aleman (-95) added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Nejapa.

Brujos Izalco - Arcense 79-91

Arcense held off Brujos Izalco to sweep the series. Arcense forced 20 Brujos Izalco turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 13 blocks. Teodoro Romero (-85) had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 27 rebounds and 7 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and guard Carlos Torres (170-85) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 blocks during the contest. American center Jameel Best (206-94, college: Miss.Valley St., agency: Epic Sports Consulting LLC) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 24 rebounds and 8 blocks and forward Gustavo Galdamez (190-96) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. Five Arcense and four Brujos Izalco players scored in double figures.

Ahuachapan - San Marcos 67-108

San Marcos advanced into the next round as they trounced Ahuachapan in Game 2. San Marcos dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Ahuachapan's 36. They outrebounded Ahuachapan 48-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. San Marcos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Ronald Flores notched 30 points to lead the effort and Carlos Sorto supported him with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Four San Marcos players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by American swingman Jonathan Maxwell (192-82) did not help to save the game for Ahuachapan. Christopher Castro added 17 points for the hosts.
